Your data

Privacy Policy

Your family’s privacy is the whole point of MobileTracking, so we take our own data practices seriously. This privacy policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It covers both the MobileTracking app and this website.

Last updated: 1 September 2026

Who we are

MobileTracking (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides a parental-control application and the website at mobiletracking.app. This privacy policy applies to the app, the parent dashboard, and this site. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].

Information we collect

From the parent account

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, password (stored in a hashed form), and, if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details processed by our payment provider. We also keep the settings you configure, such as saved places, screen-time budgets, and alert preferences.

From a paired child device (with your setup)

When you install the family app on a child’s phone and switch features on, the app collects only the data needed for the features you enabled. Depending on your settings, this may include:

  • Location: the device’s approximate location and a history of places, used for the map and place alerts.
  • Screen time and app usage: which apps are used and for how long.
  • Web activity: categories of sites requested and the addresses of blocked attempts, used for filtering. Blocked pages are not opened or stored.
  • Communication activity: call and message metadata such as contacts, direction, time, and frequency, with unknown numbers flagged. Keyword alerts note when a word you chose appears in a notification, without storing the message content.
  • Device status: battery level, app version, connectivity, and protection settings, so you can see whether a phone is reporting.

The features covered by this website do not log keystrokes and do not activate the device camera or microphone. The child’s phone displays a transparency screen listing exactly what is being collected.

From this website

Like most websites, we collect standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) and use cookies. See “Cookies and advertising” below.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the service, show you your family’s data, deliver alerts, and enforce the limits you set.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the app and website.
  • Communicate with you about your account, support requests, and important changes.
  • Process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or your family’s data, and we do not use a child’s data to build advertising profiles.

Children’s data

MobileTracking is intended to be set up by a parent or legal guardian for a minor child in their care, with that child’s knowledge. The parent or guardian controls the account and the data. Because a guardian directs the collection and can view, export, or delete the data at any time, they act as the controller of the child’s information for the family’s purposes. We handle children’s data with extra care, keep it only as long as needed, and never use it for advertising or sell it. If you believe a child’s data has been collected without proper authority, contact us and we will remove it.

Legal basis (where applicable)

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process data on the basis of the contract with you (to provide the service), your consent (for optional features), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service), and legal obligations. You can withdraw consent for optional features at any time by turning them off.

How we share information

We share information only in limited ways:

  • Service providers: trusted vendors who host our servers, process payments, or send email on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect the data.
  • Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
  • Business transfers: if the company is involved in a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.

We never sell your data to third parties.

Cookies and advertising

This website uses cookies to make the site work, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. We may also use third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, to support the site.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
  • Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings.

Advertising cookies are used on this marketing website only. They are not used inside the parent dashboard, and your family’s monitored data is never shared with advertisers.

Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Monitored data from a child’s device is retained on a rolling basis so that recent history is available to you; you can delete it sooner at any time. When you delete a child, close your account, or uninstall the app, the associated data is removed or anonymised within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to meet legal obligations.

Security

We protect data in transit with encryption, store passwords in hashed form, and restrict access to personal information to people who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your family’s data safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can do most of this directly from your account, or by contacting [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. When we do, we take steps to ensure your information receives an appropriate level of protection.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
