Dispute a report
Own a number with inaccurate reports? Learn how to request a review, what information to include and what happens next.
If you own or are responsible for a phone number and believe the reports or verdict shown for it are inaccurate, you can ask us to review them. This page explains when a review is appropriate, what information to include, and what happens next. The request form is below.
When to request a review
- Your number has been reported as spam or a scam, but you don’t make those kinds of calls.
- A report contains personal information, abuse or false accusations.
- Your number was recently reassigned to you and the reports relate to a previous user.
- Your number was spoofed, meaning scammers displayed it as their caller ID without your involvement.
- You run a legitimate business line and the reports don’t reflect the calls you make.
What to include in your request
- The phone number, in full international format (for example, starting with + and the country code).
- Your relationship to the number: personal user, business owner, or authorized representative.
- Which reports you’re disputing, and why. Quote the report text or date if you can.
- Relevant context, such as when you got the number, whether you believe it has been spoofed, or what your business calls are for.
- Supporting information, if available, such as a business website that lists the number, or a carrier notice about reassignment. Please don’t send copies of ID documents unless we ask.
- A contact email so we can reply.
We may ask you to confirm control of the number, for example by responding to a code sent to it, before making changes.
What happens next
- We review the reports against our community guidelines and the information you provide.
- Reports that contain personal information, abuse or claims that break our guidelines are edited or removed.
- If the reports appear to relate to a previous owner or to spoofing, we may remove older reports, add context to the listing, or adjust how they count toward the score.
- Genuine, guideline-compliant reports describing real experiences generally stay up, even if you disagree with them. You may be able to add context instead.
- We aim to respond within [number] business days and will tell you what action, if any, we took.
About spoofed numbers
Caller ID spoofing means anyone can make a call appear to come from a number they don’t own. If your number is being spoofed, you may receive angry callbacks from people you’ve never contacted. Let us know in your request. It’s also worth telling your carrier, which may be able to help.
